One of the fans’ favourite supernatural creatures is vampires, on which a lot of fantasies are based. There have been a lot of series as well as anime based on them. One of them we are talking about today is Kekkai Sensen, which is also known as Blood Blockade Battlefront in English. The anime is adapted from a Japanese manga of the same name, which is written and illustrated by Yasuhiro Nightow and is an action, supernatural, comedy, and fantasy series. It started on January 5, 2009, and lasted on February 19, 2015.
Rie Matsumoto is the director of Kekkai Sensen. Her directing style is very distinctive and one-of-a-kind. Along with her brilliant strategies for creating something exciting or engaging, she has a wide variety of creative camera angles. Kekkai Sensen makes excellent use of the world it has created in order to tell its story.
Character importance stems from the fact that the characters are unquestionably the best aspect of the series, along with the fantastic sound design. Despite not being its strongest suit, art and animation still do a respectable job with the help of its direction angles. It was animated by the studio Bones, known for its work on My Hero Academia, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Sk8, Bungou Stray Dogs, etc.
Kekkai Sensen Season 3 Release Date
As of this writing, there has been no announcement regarding the third season of Kekkai Sensen. Season one of the anime premiered from April 5, 2015, to October 4, 2015, which had 12 episodes with an OVA (original video animation) released along with its Blu-Ray release. Following the success of season one, season 2 was soon announced, which was released on October 8, 2017, and ran till December 24, 2017, with the same number of episodes and an additional OVA and was titled “Kekkai Sensen & Beyond”.
Following the popularity of both the seasons and considering the time interval between the two, season three should have been announced and released by now. But that doesn’t mean that the show has been cancelled; it might be simply on hiatus since there is no manga material left to cover. Even though the anime was only loosely adapted from the manga, it still depends on it. So far, two manga series have been written and released. The third series of the manga is set to come out in Autumn 2022, from which we are expecting season 3 to be adapted.

Kekkai Sensen Season 3 Story
Seasons one and two were loosely adapted from manga, season one even had an anime-original ending. They covered the manga’s already released two series. The third series of manga, which is set to be released soon, will hopefully be adapted in season 3, though nothing is confirmed.
As of right now, Kekkai Sensen can be summed up as the tale of a group of superhuman beings battling disorder in New York, which has since transformed into a supernatural border between the underworld and the real world given the name Jerusalums Lot. This show has a ton of variety because it features a variety of significant antagonists who helped to shape the way that Jeruselum’s Lot operates. The plot is continued in Season 2 while some new characters are also introduced.
